RISK

“This is my year NOT to take risks.”
- A friend told me this just yesterday. Coming from a fellow small biz owner, this statement really hit me hard.
.
Me? I’ve never been afraid to make bold moves. But I also think through them first. I can look critically at things and still listen to my intuition when it says “hell yes” or “pass.”
.
But to blanket the whole year with an attitude of “no risks”?? Damn. That feel truly limiting. My friend has made some bad moves the past few years and also struggles with faith in herself. Is that what’s forcing her hand to play it safe?
.
I am FAR from perfect… I’ve made my share of mistakes and also struggle with momentum and belief some days. But I continue to SHOW UP and TAKE RISK.
.
Just today I signed up for an expensive business course. Is it a risk? Sure. But did it align with where I want to go and do?
.
“Hell yes.”
.
And so another risk starts soon for me. I’m looking at it with anticipation and excitement. It’s a mindset after all… I can embrace risk this way or put on blinders and stay in my lane not ever really knowing what potential lies in the periphery.
.
What’s your relationship with risk in 2018? Ready to roll the dice or are you folding too?
.
What’s your biggest risk that’s panned out? Think about it and hold that thought in your mind the next few weeks as new opportunities cross your path. Use it as belief that even though we sometimes take a misstep, YOU have the capability to take and make the most of risk.
